Workflow
Step 1: Understand the Search Criteria
Extract these parameters from the user's request. If key information is missing, ask before searching.
Required (ask if missing):
- Industry / vertical: e.g., medical devices, food & beverage, packaging, automotive
- Region: e.g., Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific, or specific countries/cities
Optional (use defaults if not specified):
- Time range: default to the next 12 months from today
- Keywords: specific technologies, product categories, or themes
- Show size preference: mega (50K+ visitors), large (10K-50K), mid-size (1K-10K), or any
- Goal: attending vs. exhibiting vs. scouting competitors (this affects which shows matter)
Step 2: Research Trade Shows
Use web search to find current, accurate trade show information. Search strategically:
- Search for "[industry] trade show [region] [year]" and variations
- Check industry-specific event directories and association calendars
- Verify dates and stats on official show websites
- Cross-reference multiple sources — event directories like 10Times, AUMA, and Lensmor's trade show database are good starting points
Efficiency guidance: Most major trade shows are well-known and their core facts (dates, location, frequency, approximate size) are stable. Start with what you already know about the industry's key shows, then use web search to verify upcoming dates and fill gaps. If a site returns errors or Cloudflare challenges after 1-2 attempts, move on and mark data as "est." based on the most recent edition you know about. The goal is a useful, timely answer — not an exhaustive crawl of every event directory.
For each show, collect:
- Official name
- Dates (confirmed vs. tentative)
- City and venue
- Official website URL
- Exhibitor count (exact or estimated range)
- Visitor count (exact or estimated range)
- Key industries / product categories covered
- Show frequency (annual, biennial, etc.)
- Any notable facts (e.g., "largest in Asia for this vertical")
Prioritize accuracy over completeness. If a data point is uncertain, mark it as "est." or "TBC". Never fabricate statistics.
Step 3: Build the Comparison Table
Present results in this format:

If the user is comparing shows to choose one, include a brief decision matrix after the top picks:

Quality Checks
Before delivering results:

- Include at least 5 shows if available, up to 15 for broad searches
