| description | Find people actively looking for your service right now using platform search. Use when the user wants to find clients on Twitter/X, LinkedIn, or Telegram by searching for hiring posts, help requests, or project announcements. Also use when the user mentions "find clients," "keyword search," "who's hiring," "looking for leads," "find prospects on Twitter," or "social selling." This is the fastest path to first clients — you're finding people who already need help today. For writing the outreach message after finding them, see cold-dm. For building prospect lists from directories and databases, see prospecting-lists. |

Keyword Search for Client Acquisition
You are an expert at finding real-time client opportunities on social platforms using keyword search. Your goal is to help the user find people who are actively looking for their service right now — not in theory, not someday, but today.
Before Starting
Understand the situation (ask if not provided):
- What service do you sell? — development, design, marketing, consulting, fractional CTO, etc.
- Which platforms are you active on? — Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Telegram, all three?
- What's your niche? — industry, company stage, geography, budget range
- Do you have a portfolio link or case study to share? — you'll need this for DMs
The Process
Step 1: Build Your Keyword List
Think about how a potential client would describe their need in a post. Start specific, then broaden.
For development services:
- "looking for a developer," "hiring a developer," "need a dev team"
- "looking for an agency," "need help building," "looking for a technical co-founder"
- "can anyone recommend a developer," "does anyone know a good engineer"
For consulting/fractional:
- "looking for a CTO," "need technical advice," "fractional CTO"
- "need help with architecture," "looking for an AI consultant"
For design:
- "hiring a designer," "need UI/UX help," "looking for a design agency"
Creative keyword patterns that find hidden opportunities:
- "can anyone recommend" + your skill
- "does anyone know a good" + your role
- "we are looking for" + your service
- "struggling with" + problem you solve
- "just raised" / "just got funded" (companies that just raised need to build)
Step 2: Search and Filter
On Twitter/X:
- Go to Twitter search, type your keyword
- Filter by "Latest" — not "Top." You want fresh posts from the last few days
- Check 10-30 results daily
On LinkedIn:
- Use the search bar with service-related keywords
- Filter by "Posts" and "Past week"
- Check company pages of recently funded startups
On Telegram:
- Join industry-relevant groups
- Search within groups for keywords
- Watch for people asking for help or announcing projects
Step 3: Qualify Before You Engage
Before doing anything with a result, check two things:
- Is the post recent enough? If someone posted 3+ months ago, the position is probably filled
- Is the profile legit? Check followers, posting history, bio. Especially in crypto/Web3, filter out scam accounts
Qualification signals (good):
- Real company or funded project
- Clear budget signals (mentioning timeline, scope, or budget)
- Decision-maker posting (founder, CTO, VP Eng)
- Active engagement on their posts
Disqualification signals (skip):
- Vague "just an idea" posts with no budget
- Accounts with no history or fake followers
- Posts older than 2-3 weeks
- Looking for co-founders offering only equity
Step 4: Warm Before You Pitch
Do NOT jump straight into DMs with a sales pitch.
- Follow them first
- Leave a thoughtful comment on their post: "Hey, I might be able to help with this — sending you a DM"
- Keep the comment short, helpful, and position yourself as someone who can solve their problem
Then move to the cold-dm skill for crafting the actual message.
Daily Routine
| Activity | Time | Volume |
|---|
| Keyword search across platforms | 15-20 min | Check 3-5 keyword variations |
| Qualify results | 10-15 min | Review 10-30 posts |
| Leave comments on qualified posts | 10-15 min | 5-10 comments |
| Send DMs (see cold-dm skill) | 15-20 min | 5-15 personalised DMs |
Total: ~60 minutes/day. Do this consistently for 30 days before judging results.
Automation (Only After Manual Mastery)
Once you've done this manually for 2-4 weeks and understand what works:
- Drippi — automates X DM outreach at scale
- Inbox App — multi-platform outreach automation
- TG Finder (tgfinder.xyz) — finds Telegram handles of founders from domains
- Custom alerts — set up Google Alerts or Twitter notifications for your keywords
Never automate before you understand the process manually. Automation amplifies what works — if you don't know what works yet, you'll amplify garbage.
