| description | Turn a clump of files into a milestone and Linear issues for a designated project using the Linear MCP. Use when the user requests to push a group of documents to Linear. |
This skill takes the designated files the user has passed you that are already organized into a milestone and issue format and uploads them to the proper project in Linear using the Linear MCP. Do NOT interview the user for details, but you can ask targeted questions such as "What project should I upload these to?"
Process
-
Read the files the user has designated
-
Form a plan for the relationship between the issues and determine whether the milestone is already complete, such as in a PRD or plan file, or whether it needs to be generated from the issues.
-
Verify you have access to Linear MCP
-
If you are unsure which project the content should be uploaded to, ask the user.
-
Leave as much of the content intact as possible. Only remove data used to generate relationships or similar metadata that will already be represented in Linear.
-
Show the user your plan in a concise report stating which project you will upload to, along with a hierarchical bullet list that starts with the milestone and places the issues underneath it. Represent the relationships between issues unless doing so would make the report too complicated.
-
Once the user confirms, upload to Linear using the Linear MCP.
Linear Upload Expectations
-
We expect that the relationships are formed inside linear and the markdown descriptions are removed
-
We expect that the PRD is the milestone's description
-
We expect that each issue is a coherent unit, an agent should be able to look at the issue, the attached milestone, and the linked issues to formulate a plan that will fulfill the issues need.
