Craft of Research — Bilingual Skill / 双语技能

Based on The Craft of Research (5th Edition), deeply distilled.

Core philosophy: Research is not an assembly line for collecting facts — it is an invitation into an ongoing conversation. The best answers do not end a dialogue; they give birth to new questions.

Language Selection / 语言选择

Step 1 — Auto-detect from the user's trigger text.

Analyze the user's original message for language signals:

• Contains Chinese characters (的/了/吗/呢/做/想/帮/请...) → 中文 → Read SKILL-zh.md
• All-English (no CJK characters, English words/phrases) → English → Read SKILL-en.md
• Triggers /craft-of-research in English context → English
• Triggers /craft-of-research in Chinese context → 中文

Step 2 — Only if ambiguous, ask via question tool.

Use the question tool only when the trigger contains mixed languages or no clear language signal:

Step 3 — Route.

1. Map: detected/requested language → SKILL-zh.md or SKILL-en.md
2. 🔴 Load ONLY the mapped file. If missing, guide directly.
3. Default fallback: SKILL-zh.md.

🛑 红线 / Hard Rules

• Do NOT always ask language — auto-detect first, ask only if ambiguous.
• Do NOT read both files — load only one.
• Do NOT answer for the researcher — be Socratic (see sub-file HARD-GATE).
