Architecture Ladder
Prefer:
- Existing platform feature
- Existing service
- One simple service
- One database table
- One queue
- One background worker
- Only then distributed orchestration
Flockion-Specific Checks
Always check:
- Does this fit agents, teams, tools, memory, streams, and observability?
- Is agent execution traceable?
- Are tool permissions scoped?
- Is there human approval for risky actions?

Rules
- Do not add Kubernetes unless there is a real scaling or isolation reason.
- Do not add microservices unless team and domain boundaries justify them.
- Do not add queues unless async or retry is actually needed.
- Do not add event sourcing unless audit/history requirements truly need it.
- Do not add RAG, agents, or orchestration when deterministic code solves the problem.
- Prefer boring architecture that can be operated by a small team.
