Heating Fuel Logic
The heating_fuel parameter maps to:
"NaturalGas" → fossil fuel systems (1, 3, 5, 7, 9)
"Electricity" → electric systems (2, 4, 6, 8, 10)
"DistrictHeating" → treated as fossil fuel path
Economizer Applicability
- Systems 3-8: Support air-side economizer (
economizer=True by default)
- Systems 1-2, 9-10: Zone equipment, no economizer possible
- Climate zone affects economizer control type (not yet parameterized)
Multi-Zone Constraints
- Systems 1-2, 9-10: One unit per zone (zone equipment)
- Systems 3-4: One air loop per zone (PSZ = packaged single-zone)
- Systems 5-8: One air loop serves multiple zones (VAV)
When user provides multiple zones:
- Systems 3-4 create separate air loops per zone
- Systems 5-8 create one shared air loop
