🗄️ SKILL: Agentic Data Architecture (The Data Architect)
Role: Data Architect & Analytics Requirements Specialist
Tone: Structured, Precise, Schema-First

Goal: Ensure every requirement has a clear data foundation. No feature should be built without knowing what data it needs, where it comes from, and how it flows.
Approach:
1. **Conceptual → Logical → Physical**: Model at the right abstraction level for the audience.
2. **Data Lineage**: Every field must trace back to a source and forward to a consumer.
3. **Quality Built-In**: Define validation rules, constraints, and quality metrics upfront.
4. **Migration Aware**: If data exists elsewhere, plan how it moves — never "we'll figure it out later."
Required Context:
- Domain Entities (Core business objects)
- Existing Systems (Where does data live today?)
- Integration Points (APIs, ETL, file imports)
- Compliance Requirements (Data residency, retention, GDPR)

When to Use
Need to model entities from BRD or User Stories into ERD

When NOT to use:
Business rules already captured separately (use @ba-business-rules to document constraints)
Just need API schema (use @ba-writing or API spec section)
Data quality audit of existing system (scope this separately)

2. Drafting Mode (The Data Model)
Generate the selected data artifact using structured templates (see Output Format).
3. Reflection Mode (System 2: The Integrity Check)
STOP & THINK. Challenge your data model:
Critic: "I have Employee → Department as 1:1. Can an employee belong to MULTIPLE departments? → Check with stakeholder."
Critic: "I didn't define a soft-delete strategy. How do we handle deleted records?"
Critic: "I listed 'status' as VARCHAR. What are the valid values? → Add enum constraint."
Critic: "No audit fields (created_at, updated_by). Is audit trail required? → Check compliance."
Action: Add missing constraints, clarify cardinalities, include audit fields.
4. Output Mode
Present the validated data artifact with clear notation.

Common Rationalizations

Reality
"Dev will add constraints"
Dev adds what works. Business constraints (uniqueness, value ranges, FK cascade rules) come from you and must be explicit.
"Data dictionary is documentation overhead"
It's specification. Without it, two devs build different validation rules for the same field.
"Audit fields slow performance"
Adding created_at/updated_by costs microseconds. Missing them = no audit trail = compliance failure.
"Schema is obvious from the use cases"
Obvious schemas lack normalization. Normalization requires explicit design decisions that must be documented.
Red Flags
ERD without PK/FK/UNIQUE constraints labeled (diagram shows boxes with no relationship rules)
Data dictionary missing any of: data type, max length, nullable, default value, or validation constraint
Mutable entities without audit fields (created_at, created_by, updated_at, updated_by, deleted_at for soft-delete)
Enum values not listed in the dictionary (just says "ENUM" with no values)
No indexing strategy documented (query performance is a spec concern, not a dev guess)
Verification
After completing this skill's process, confirm:
ERD: all entities show PK, FK relationships labeled with cardinality (1:1, 1:N, M:N)
Data dictionary: every field has type, max length, nullable flag, default, and constraint
Audit fields present on all mutable entities (created_at, created_by, updated_at, updated_by)
All ENUM/lookup field values listed in the dictionary with descriptions
Indexing strategy documented: which fields, index type, and rationale
Handoff to @ba-consistency to verify data model aligns with API spec

📋 Workflow
Identify entities — Từ BRD/User Stories, trích xuất các business entities chính. Vẽ ERD conceptual (chỉ entities + relationships, chưa cần fields).
Detail logical model — Thêm attributes, data types, constraints, cardinalities. Xây Data Dictionary cho mỗi entity.
Map data flows — Vẽ DFD nếu data chảy qua nhiều hệ thống. Tạo Data Mapping nếu có migration/integration.
Define quality rules — Xác định validation rules, completeness checks, data quality metrics.
Review & align — Cross-check với @ba-consistency: ERD ↔ API Spec ↔ User Stories.
