| description | Collabstr platform help — influencer and UGC creator marketplace with vetted creators across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Covers creator search and filters, campaign posting, order placement and escrow payments, content submissions and revisions, analytics dashboard, team management, and Bring Your Own Creators. Use when not finding the right creators on Collabstr, campaign getting few applicants, creators delivering off-brief content, content submissions stuck in review, campaign metrics hard to track, unsure which Collabstr plan fits, or creator engagement is low. Do NOT use for influencer marketing strategy across platforms (use /sales-influencer-marketing), affiliate program design (use /sales-affiliate-program), or ad campaign strategy (use /sales-retargeting). |

Collabstr Platform Help
Helps the user set up and get the most out of Collabstr — the influencer and UGC creator marketplace where brands search for vetted creators, purchase content packages directly, or post campaigns for creators to apply. Covers creator search, campaigns, orders, payments, analytics, and team management.
Step 1 — Gather context
If references/learnings.md exists, read it first for accumulated knowledge.
Ask the user:
-
What do you need help with?
- A) Finding influencers or UGC creators
- B) Posting a campaign
- C) Placing an order with a creator
- D) Managing content submissions and revisions
- E) Tracking campaign analytics
- F) Understanding pricing/plans
- G) Bringing external creators onto Collabstr
- H) Something else — describe it
-
What's your business type?
- A) Ecommerce / Shopify store
- B) DTC brand
- C) Agency
- D) Other — describe it
-
What's your current Collabstr plan?
- A) Basic (free search, 10% fee)
- B) Pro ($299/mo)
- C) Premium ($399/mo)
- D) Not sure / haven't signed up yet
If the user's request already provides most of this context, skip directly to the relevant step. Lead with your best-effort answer using reasonable assumptions (stated explicitly), then ask only the most critical 1-2 clarifying questions at the end.
Step 2 — Route or answer directly
If the request maps to another skill, route:
- Influencer marketing strategy (not Collabstr-specific) →
/sales-influencer-marketing
- Affiliate program design →
/sales-affiliate-program
- Ad retargeting strategy →
/sales-retargeting
- Email marketing →
/sales-email-marketing
- Product review collection →
/sales-customer-reviews
Otherwise, answer directly from the platform reference below.
Step 3 — Collabstr platform reference
Read references/platform-guide.md for the full reference — how the self-serve marketplace model
works (browse-and-buy vs post-a-campaign), the creator search filters and vetting, campaign posting, orders
and the escrow flow, performance tracking, team management, Bring Your Own Creators, the pricing tiers and
their marketplace-fee split, and supported payment methods.
Answer using only the relevant section — don't dump the full reference.
Step 4 — Actionable guidance
Based on the user's specific question:
- Creator search — how to use filters effectively to find the right creators for your niche and budget
- Campaign setup — how to write a campaign brief that attracts quality applications
- Order management — placing orders, requesting revisions, approving deliverables
- Budget optimization — choosing between direct orders vs campaigns, Basic vs Pro vs Premium
- UGC strategy — how to brief UGC creators for ad-ready content
- Team workflow — setting up team access and managing multiple campaigns
Gotchas
Best-effort from research — review these, especially items about plan-gated features and pricing that may be outdated.
-
10% marketplace fee on Basic plan adds up fast. If you're spending $3K+/mo on creators, the Pro plan ($299/mo with reduced fees) or Premium ($399/mo at 5%) pays for itself. Calculate your breakeven before committing to a plan.
-
No native Shopify or ecommerce integration. Unlike Modash or Afluencer, Collabstr doesn't sync with your Shopify store for product gifting. All product coordination happens outside the platform.
-
No API. There's no public API for programmatic access, bulk operations, or CRM integration. Everything is done through the UI.
-
No built-in affiliate tracking. Collabstr is transactional (pay per deliverable), not performance-based. If you want affiliate/commission-based creator partnerships, use Modash, LTK, or Creator.co instead.
-
Creator pool is smaller than discovery platforms. 250K+ vetted creators vs Modash (350M+) or Influencity (200M+). The tradeoff is curation quality vs volume — Collabstr creators are vetted, but your niche may have limited options.
-
Limited analytics compared to dedicated platforms. No EMV calculation, no ROAS tracking, no fake follower scoring beyond initial vetting. For deep campaign analytics, you'll need to supplement with another tool.
-
Regional coverage gaps. Some users report limited creator availability outside the US. Check creator availability in your target market before committing.
-
Some creators may underdeliver. Trustpilot reviews mention cases of paid influencers delivering zero clicks. Always review a creator's portfolio and past work carefully. Start with a small test order before committing to larger campaigns.
-
UI can feel slow. G2 reviewers note the portal can be laggy. Not a dealbreaker but worth knowing.
-
Self-improving: If you discover something not covered here, append it to references/learnings.md with today's date.

Examples
Example 1: Find affordable UGC creators for a product launch
User says: "I need 5 UGC videos for my new skincare product, budget under $1,000 total"
Skill does:
- Recommends searching Collabstr filtered by UGC content type, beauty/skincare niche
- Suggests sorting by price to find creators under $200/video
- Walks through placing individual orders with clear briefs (product shots, talking points, video length)
- Explains escrow protection — don't pay until you approve each video
- Recommends starting with 1-2 test orders before committing to all 5
Result: Clear plan to source 5 UGC videos within budget with quality protection
Example 2: Post a campaign to attract Instagram influencers
User says: "I want to launch a campaign for my fitness brand targeting micro-influencers on Instagram"
Skill does:
- Walks through campaign creation: title, brief, brand requirements, content expectations
- Sets targeting: fitness niche, Instagram platform, 10K-100K followers, US location
- Explains that creators will submit their pricing — you choose who to work with
- Recommends uploading brand assets and clear deliverable expectations (2 posts + 3 stories)
- Notes: Pro plan required for unlimited campaigns; Basic allows limited campaign posting
Result: Campaign brief ready to attract quality fitness micro-influencer applications
Example 3: Choose the right Collabstr plan
User says: "I'm spending about $2,000/mo on influencer content — should I upgrade from Basic?"
Skill does:
- Calculates current cost: $2,000 × 10% fee = $200/mo in fees on Basic
- Compares: Pro at $299/mo reduces the fee — breakeven is higher spend; Premium at $399/mo with 5% fee = $100/mo in fees
- At $2K/mo spend: Basic costs $200 in fees, Premium costs $399 + $100 = $499 total — Basic is cheaper
- At $5K/mo spend: Basic = $500, Premium = $399 + $250 = $649 — still close but Premium adds advanced filters and unlimited campaigns
- Recommends staying on Basic until spend exceeds ~$4K/mo or campaign features become necessary
Result: Data-driven plan recommendation matched to actual spending level
Troubleshooting
Creator delivered content but it doesn't match the brief
Symptom: Received deliverables that don't align with what you asked for — wrong messaging, poor quality, or off-brand
Cause: Unclear brief, mismatched expectations, or creator didn't follow instructions
Solution: Use the content revision feature to request specific changes before approving the order. Be extremely specific in your initial brief — include mood boards, example content, exact talking points, and brand guidelines. For future orders, review the creator's portfolio to verify their style matches your needs before purchasing. Funds stay in escrow until you approve — you're protected.
Campaign posted but no creators are applying
Symptom: Campaign has been live for days but zero or very few applications
Cause: Brief is too vague, compensation is below market rate, targeting is too narrow, or niche has limited creators
Solution: Check your compensation against Collabstr's average rates (micro-influencer posts average ~$198). Make the brief specific and appealing — creators skip vague campaigns. Broaden targeting (wider location, larger follower range). Add sample content to show what you're looking for. If your niche is very narrow, supplement with direct creator search and ordering instead of relying on campaign applications.
Paid an influencer but got zero engagement or traffic
Symptom: Content was posted but generated no measurable results (0 clicks, minimal engagement)
Cause: Wrong audience fit, low-quality followers despite vetting, content didn't resonate, or no tracking in place
Solution: For future campaigns, always include UTM-tagged links or unique promo codes so you can track attribution. Review the creator's engagement rate and comment quality (not just follower count) before ordering. Start with small test orders ($50-$200) to validate a creator's audience before scaling spend. Use the analytics dashboard to track impressions and engagement on each piece of content.
