plans before executing any research activities.
When to Use This Skill
Trigger this skill when:
- User says "research", "investigate", "analyze", "look into", "find out" without specifics
- Request lacks: scope, goals, deliverables, success criteria, time constraints
- Request is ambiguous about: what to research, why it's needed, who will use findings
- User's prompt is > 10 lines or response is absurdly short → MUST trigger clarification
- Request mixes research with implementation → separate concerns
Do NOT use when:
- Request is already specific: "Investigate why user login fails with error 403"
- Request clearly defines: scope, goals, deliverables, success criteria
- User explicitly provides context, constraints, and expected outcomes
Intent Clarification Framework
Step 1: Detect Ambiguity
Check if the request is missing any of these critical elements:
