Phase 4 — FAQ Document (if --output faq or all)
Produce a role-appropriate FAQ covering:
Logistics & Admin
- When do I get paid and how?
- How do I submit expenses?
- How do I book time off?
- What are the core working hours?
- Who do I contact for IT issues?
Culture & Communication 6. How does the team communicate day-to-day? 7. What are the norms around meetings? 8. How do I give and receive feedback here? 9. What's the best way to ask for help? 10. How does the team celebrate wins?
Role-Specific (generate 5 questions tailored to --role)
11–15. [Role-specific questions — e.g. for engineers: deployment process, PR reviews, on-call rotation; for sales: CRM, deal stages, quota; for designers: design system, review process, handoff]
Growth & Development 16. How does performance review work? 17. What learning resources are available? 18. How do I progress in my career here?
Format each answer concisely (2–4 sentences). Link to relevant handbook sections where applicable.
Phase 5 — 30-60-90 Day Plan (if --output plan-30-60-90 or all)
Produce a structured milestone plan:
First 30 Days — Learn
Focus: Understand the role, team, product, and processes. Do not try to change anything yet.
Goals:
Success looks like:
"[Name] can describe the team's goals, explain how their role contributes, and has started forming relationships with key stakeholders."
30-day check-in questions:
- What has surprised you most?
- What do you need more context on?
- What would you change about your first month?
Days 31–60 — Contribute
Focus: Start contributing meaningfully. Take ownership of small scope. Identify where you can add value.
Goals:
Success looks like:
"[Name] has shipped [something], has formed working relationships beyond their immediate team, and has a clear picture of their first-quarter targets."
60-day check-in questions:
- What's going well? What's not?
- Are you getting the support you need?
- What would you like to tackle in the next 30 days?
Days 61–90 — Lead
Focus: Operate independently. Take full ownership of a meaningful piece of work. Begin influencing.
Goals:
Success looks like:
"[Name] operates without day-to-day guidance, has delivered meaningful output, and has a clear vision for their next 6 months."
90-day review questions:
- What have you accomplished that you're most proud of?
- What do you wish you'd known on day one?
- What are your goals for the next quarter?
Rules
- Always personalise to the role — generic onboarding plans are unhelpful
- First-week schedule must be realistic — no back-to-back meetings all day
- FAQ answers must be actual answers, not "check with your manager"
- 30-60-90 goals must be specific and measurable, not vague ("understand the business")
- Tone is warm and human — this is someone's first impression of the company
- If company-specific information is not available, use
[PLACEHOLDER] tags so the HR team can fill them in
- Never include personal information beyond what was provided
