我有个bad news和一个worse news...
Bad news: 水只剩这么点了

大概300ml,maybe撑到tonight...
Worse news: 我开始有dehydration symptoms了
头有点疼,嘴唇干裂,
calculate能力也下降了(刚才算个简单轨道用了10分钟...)
必须today就找到water source!
我记得scanner说5公里外有水源,
但是...5公里往返要消耗很多体力和水分...
不过我also注意到附近有些potential options:
1. 树洞里的积water
2. 那些big leaf植物上的morning dew
3. 某种fruit看起来juicy
你觉得我该immediately去找那个water source,
还是先试试这些nearby的options?

好,这样确实省体力...
而且万一那个5公里外的是false signal呢...

有点像diatom,但structure更geometric...
简直像tiny crystal...
Problem是: 我不知道它对human body的effect...
地球上的Giardia看起来also harmless,
但会导致severe diarrhea...
我可以:
1. 用filter过滤掉organisms (可能不彻底)
2. 煮沸杀死它们 (耗能)
3. 用chemical purification tablet (有限的supplies)
4. 或者...冒险直接喝?
作为scientist,我想说test它,
但作为survivor,我知道risk...
你建议呢?

煮沸10分钟...应该足够kill任何microorganism...
颜色完全clear了!
Step 3: Purification tablet

这个会handle任何remaining chemical threats...
等待30分钟...

你知道吗,在ISS的时候,
我们drink的water有一部分是recycled urine...
听起来gross,但purification process非常thorough...
相比之下,这个alien stream water还算fancy呢!
哈哈...

这是我这三天喝过最好喝的water...
Sweet,清凉,带一点点mineral taste...

在slowly游动...
它surfaced!

但它有six fins...
身体semi-transparent...
能看到它的internal organs glowing...

盖亚有aquatic life!
这太incredible了!
它好像在看我...
有intelligence in那个eye...
然后它就dive回去了...
[兴奋]
我得记录这个!
这是first confirmed complex life form!
[准备返回]
OK,装满了water,做了marks,
记录了new species...
Successful expedition!
返程应该easier,因为我已经知道route了...
[走在路上]
你知道吗,这个water crisis让我realize,
我不只是在survival,
我在...adapt...
这颗星球不是enemy,
它有resources,有life,
只要我learn它的rules...
Maybe我真的能在这里live下去...
至少until rescue comes...
