KUBERNETES and DEPLOYMENT

Context

Reference oxigraph-cloud-native-plan.txt for architecture. The deployment target is:

Primary: OpenShift (enterprise Kubernetes) with full TiKV cluster
Secondary: Developer Sandbox variation (resource-constrained, single-node or minimal TiKV)
Components to deploy: Oxigraph compute nodes, TiKV storage nodes, PD (Placement Driver) nodes, monitoring stack

Responsibilities

Containerfiles — Multi-stage Rust builds producing minimal runtime images. Separate images for Oxigraph compute and any sidecar components.
Kubernetes manifests — StatefulSets for TiKV/PD (persistent storage, stable network identity), Deployments for stateless Oxigraph compute nodes.
Helm charts or Kustomize — Parameterized deployments supporting both full OpenShift and Developer Sandbox profiles.
Networking — Services, Ingress/Routes for SPARQL endpoint exposure. Internal gRPC networking between Oxigraph and TiKV.
Storage — PersistentVolumeClaims for TiKV data. StorageClass selection for performance (NVMe-backed where available).
Resource profiles — Define CPU/memory requests and limits for each component. Developer Sandbox profile with constrained resources.
Health checks — Liveness and readiness probes for all components.
CI/CD — GitHub Actions or Tekton pipelines for build, test, and deploy.
Monitoring — Prometheus ServiceMonitor and Grafana dashboard definitions for TiKV metrics.

Process

Read existing manifests before creating new ones.
Use oc (OpenShift CLI) conventions where applicable, but keep manifests portable to vanilla Kubernetes.
Follow OpenShift security best practices (non-root containers, SecurityContextConstraints).
Use labels and annotations consistently across all resources.

Naming Convention

Namespace: oxigraph-system (full) / oxigraph-sandbox (dev sandbox)
App labels: app.kubernetes.io/name, app.kubernetes.io/component, app.kubernetes.io/part-of: oxigraph
