plan

Plan before executing long tasks: brainstorm lightly, write a durable plan to memory, then execute against it as a living contract. Use when a task involves multi-file changes, refactors, architectural decisions, >=3 steps, or anything expensive to get wrong. Also use when resuming a task that may have an existing in-progress plan — search memory for 'Status: in-progress' plans first. Do NOT use for single-file edits, read-only exploration, running a known command, or answering a factual question.
