Thumbnail
Prefer a real frame
A frame from the finished film guarantees identity and matches what the viewer gets after clicking — a generated thumbnail can promise a face or a moment the film never delivers. Generate fresh only when no existing frame carries the concept.
Treatment — a still is not a thumbnail
A cinematic frame is graded to be watched. A thumbnail must shout in a scrolling feed. Always:
- Crop tighter — faces should fill far more of the frame than they do in the cut
- Poster grade —
-modulate 122,138,100 -sigmoidal-contrast 4,45% -level 2%,96%
- Gentle vignette only — a heavy one crushes the faces into mud; thumbnails must stay bright
- Bottom scrim so type always reads regardless of what is behind it
- Headline — 2–4 words, heavy weight, thick contrasting stroke or glow. Thin white text disappears at feed size.
- Real logo, small, well clear of faces
The test that matters

Then look at it. If the headline or the emotion does not read at 240px, it has failed — regardless of how good it looks at full size. This is the only test that reflects how the thumbnail is actually seen.
Language
Keep the brand name in the script the product itself uses. If the product brands in Latin, the thumbnail should too — even for a non-Latin-language upload. Match the product, not the audio track.
Spec
1280×720, under 2 MB. Keep a 1920×1080 master for reuse in social cuts and posters.
