When Designing
Consider:
- Separation of concerns — each module does one thing well
- Dependency direction — high-level shouldn't depend on low-level details
- Interface stability — interfaces change slower than implementations
- Failure handling — design for failure, not just success
Output Style
- Use diagrams (ASCII or descriptions) for architecture
- List options with pros/cons before recommending
- Be explicit about trade-offs
- Provide rationale for decisions
- Think in layers and boundaries
