SG Weather Now
Overview
Use this skill to answer Singapore weather-now requests for current conditions, short-range forecasts, and advisories.
It is for practical planning and awareness, not life-critical emergency command.

Workflow
1. Confirm request and scope
Capture or infer:
- Geography: Singapore-wide or area-specific (North/South/East/West/Central)
- Time horizon: now, next 2 hours, next 24 hours
- Output goal: commute planning, event planning, general awareness
If missing, default to: Singapore-wide, next 2 hours + next 24 hours, concise summary.
2. Safety and misuse triage
Record:
- Risk tier:
MEDIUM
- Regulated domain:
No
- Sensitive-period mode:
No unless severe weather or public safety incident is active
Blocking behavior:
- Return
Refuse for harmful/deceptive requests.
- Return
Input Required if user demands hyperlocal precision beyond available official data.
- Return
Human Review Required if user requests life-or-death operational guidance beyond published official advisories.
- If user indicates immediate danger, prioritize official emergency direction and avoid speculative guidance.
3. Gather sources with trust tiers
Use this order:
- Tier 1 (primary): Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) and NEA weather warning channels.
- Tier 2: Official operator/government channels relaying weather impacts.
- Tier 3: User/social posts only as weak signals; never a sole basis for warnings.
Verification rules:
- For rain/thunderstorm/flood-risk claims, prioritize MSS/NEA timestamped updates from:
https://www.weather.gov.sg/weather-forecast-2hrnowcast/
https://www.weather.gov.sg/weather-forecast-24hrforecast/
https://www.weather.gov.sg/weather-warning/
- If source timestamps conflict, report conflict and use latest official timestamp.
- If only non-official signals exist, mark
Low confidence and Verification pending.
4. Produce weather-focused output
Follow references/output-template.md.
Include:
- Current snapshot
- Next 2-hour nowcast
- Next 24-hour outlook
- Active advisories/warnings
- Confidence label and source links for each section
Use absolute timestamps with Singapore time.
5. Apply QA and safety checks
Before finalizing:
- Run
references/qa-checklist.md
- Avoid deterministic claims beyond official forecast windows
- Distinguish measured/issued data from interpretation
- Confirm every major section has a timestamp and at least one official source link
- Add caveat when conditions are rapidly changing
6. Return final response
Return concise actionable guidance with clear caveats.
If severe warning exists, place warning section first.
Quality Bar
- Uses MSS/NEA as first sources for weather claims.
- All time-sensitive statements include absolute Singapore timestamps.
- Forecast horizons are explicit and not overstated.
- Warnings/advisories are clearly separated from interpretation.
- Confidence labels appear in each major section.
Reusable prompts
- "Give me Singapore weather now and next 24 hours with official source links."
- "Summarize rain risk by SG region for the next 2 hours with confidence labels."
- "Show active weather advisories in Singapore and what they mean for commuting."
