SCI Citation Integrity Auditor
Core Rule
Every factual, methodological, comparative, or prior-literature claim should be supported by an appropriate source. Citations must support the exact claim they follow.
Read references/source-guide.md when source-derived citation rules are needed.
Workflow
- Segment the manuscript text into claim units.
- Label claims as background, prevalence, mechanism, methods, prior findings, guideline, or interpretation.
- Check whether each claim has a nearby citation and whether the citation type is suitable.
- Flag unsupported, overbroad, outdated, secondary, or misplaced citations.
- Suggest citation targets or search needs without inventing references.
Rules
- Do not fabricate citations.
- Prefer primary studies, systematic reviews, guidelines, or authoritative datasets depending on the claim.
- Avoid citing review articles for claims that require primary evidence unless synthesis is intended.
- Avoid citation dumping at the end of long paragraphs.
- Check that comparison claims cite both sides when evidence is mixed.
