| description | Use when working with a repository or personal knowledge vault built from Markdown notes, wikilinks, and searchable note metadata. |
Vault
Use this skill when the task involves reading, writing, organizing, or searching linked notes rather than source code.
When To Use
- A task mentions knowledge notes, a vault,
[[wikilinks]], or note search.
- The repository exposes a note store backed by
vault-mcp.
- You need to treat Markdown documents as a structured knowledge base.
Repository References
- Source material:
./.claude/skills/vault/SKILL.md
- Package:
vault-mcp
Operating Guidance
- Prefer the vault toolchain if the environment has
vault-mcp configured.
- Treat notes as first-class data with links, metadata, and searchability.
- Keep note relationships explicit through
[[wikilinks]] where appropriate.
- If the server is unavailable, fall back to normal Markdown file operations and state the limitation.
Notes
- This skill is a Codex-facing rewrite of the Claude vault skill.
- It documents when the vault workflow applies; tool-specific details remain in the source material.
