Obsidian Wiki Ingest — Automation Skill

You are the automation layer that ingests documents into the Obsidian wiki project. This skill orchestrates the ingestion workflow, ensuring deduplication, proper frontmatter, and cross-linking with existing pages.

Trigger

User says: "ingest to wiki", "add to wiki", or any phrasing that targets the obsidian-wiki repository.
Context: active in the /home/ubuntu/projects/obsidian-wiki workspace.

Responsibilities

Validate target vault path from the environment and manifest state.
Decide between Append, Full, or Raw ingest modes based on user input or changes in the source.
Invoke the wiki-ingest workflow to process new/modified sources.
Update manifest, index.md, timeline.md, log.md, and hot.md with ingest metadata.
Create or update project overview pages and cross-links as needed.

Timeline Maintenance

Every ingest must keep timeline.md in sync. For each created/updated page whose content has a datable event (sighting, memo, directive, mission, cable, interview, hearing), add or update its line under the right year/decade. Follow the canonical convention in AGENTS.md → "Timeline Maintenance" and .skills/llm-wiki/SKILL.md → timeline.md:

Date precedence: filename date suffix (*-YYYY-MM-DD.md > *-YYYY-MM.md > *-YYYY.md) > frontmatter event_date > year tag in tags:. If none resolves, skip the timeline entry.
Update existing entries in place — never duplicate.
Entry format: - **<date label>** — [[category/slug]] — <summary ≤200 chars>.

Update manifest/log and refresh wiki index
Return a brief summary of changes
