Configure Envoy Proxy

Envoy uses a static bootstrap YAML (or xDS dynamic config). The key sections are static_resources → listeners and clusters, plus an admin block.

Replace the filter with envoy.filters.network.tcp_proxy:

Workflow

1. Choose example from envoy/examples/:
   • http-proxy.yaml — HTTP reverse proxy with routing
   • tcp-proxy.yaml — Raw TCP port forwarding
   • tls-termination.yaml — TLS termination
   • grpc-proxy.yaml — gRPC load balancing
2. Edit addresses and cluster hostnames.
3. Validate:

   docker run --rm -v $(pwd)/envoy/envoy.yaml:/etc/envoy/envoy.yaml \
     envoyproxy/envoy:v1.29-latest --mode validate -c /etc/envoy/envoy.yaml
   

4. Run: docker compose -f envoy/docker-compose.yml up -d
5. Check admin: curl http://localhost:9901/clusters
