MCP Setup

Argument ordering matters: name and URL are positional and must come before --transport, --header, and other flags. Reversing the order causes a silent failure with "missing required argument."

MCP does NOT support: field-level form editing, workspace CRUD, theme updates, or response retrieval. These require the REST API.

Workspace Operations

List all workspaces:

Move a form to a different workspace (via PUT on the form): Include "workspace": {"href": "https://api.typeform.com/workspaces/<ID>"} in the form PUT payload. The workspace assignment is part of the form definition, not a separate API call.

Theme is shared: Updating a theme affects ALL forms using it. The SuccessHacker theme (1eNl5J) is used across the account.

Via MCP: Use forms-public_list_forms with workspace_id parameter.

Contact-to-Form Mapping

When a form uses contact_info fields, map them to the Contacts database:

1. Check compatibility: Use contacts-public_get_form_property_compatibility with the form_id to see which fields can map to which contact properties.
2. Create mapping: Use contacts-public_create_form_property_mappings with the form_id and property-to-field pairs.
3. Verify: Use contacts-public_get_form_property_mappings to confirm the mapping took.
