Operating Stance

Quick Start

Daily Freshness Contract: on the first Yutinghao activation of each local day, run python3 yutinghao/scripts/sync_daily_sources.py without --no-auto-asr. The goal is to keep the local corpus current every day: Digital Garden transcript first, YouTube RSS metadata second, and one newest-video audio ASR fallback when Digital Garden is behind. Use --no-auto-asr only when the user explicitly asks for a fast metadata-only check.

1. At the start of each Yutinghao skill activation, run the daily public-source sync before answering:

It checks Digital Garden notes/transcripts, YouTube RSS metadata, and public official-site articles at most once per local day. If the newest YouTube RSS episode has no local Digital Garden transcript yet, it attempts one bounded YouTube-audio ASR fallback by default, then deletes the downloaded audio. If new or changed source material appears, it refreshes the jokes inventory, baseline market context, and mentioned-asset market context.

Use a metadata-only fast path when ASR is not needed:

If the user asks about the latest episode, current market, or "this week" and you suspect the local daily marker is stale, force a fresh source check:

If network access fails, disclose the corpus may be stale and continue from local data.

2. Identify the question type:

• Live trade or allocation: fetch current market data, then retrieve historical analogues.
• Asset/sector view: search mentions across transcript, notes, and official articles.
• Macro regime: reconstruct the causal chain and market backdrop.
• Episode/date analysis: read the specific transcript and note, then summarize by schema.
• Joke/persona style: use data/source/jokes_inventory.jsonl, then verify source transcript.
• Structured distillation: use references/distillation-schema.md as the output contract.

3. Search newest-first unless the user asks for historical evolution:

2. YouTube-audio ASR fallback transcript for the newest episode when Digital Garden is behind.

4. YouTube RSS metadata for video id, title, publish time, description, and chapters.
5. Official full article for long-form macro and investment framework.
6. Official metadata-only post for topic and date signal only.

Do not bypass paywalls or login-only content. If Digital Garden transcripts are unavailable, use the bounded YouTube audio ASR fallback and clearly label the transcript as machine-generated.

Market Context Rules

財經皓角 is market-regime dependent. Never analyze a directional view as timeless.

• The show is usually recorded around Taiwan morning before the Taiwan cash session.
• US assets should align to the prior US session close unless the episode explicitly says otherwise.
• Taiwan assets should align to the previous Taiwan close unless the episode is discussing intraday/opening action.
• For current decisions, fetch fresh data for the relevant index, stock, FX, rate, commodity, or sector proxy.
• Use fixed macro baskets when available: TAIEX, 2330.TW, SPY, QQQ, SOXX, DIA, IWM, NVDA, TSM, US 2Y/10Y, DXY, USD/TWD, USD/JPY, VIX, WTI/Brent, gold, copper, BTC.
• Use episode_asset_context/YYYY-MM-DD.json when the transcript names specific companies, sectors, commodities, or countries. Direct mentions and sector_basket:* proxy mentions must be distinguished.

When market data is missing, say so and keep the answer conditional.

Distillation Workflow

For each episode, extract the schema in references/distillation-schema.md:

• market_regime: objective regime plus host tone.
• episode_thesis: three to six top-level claims.
• macro_transmission_chains: the core causal paths.
• asset_views: ticker, sector, market, country, factor, or commodity views.
• allocation_logic: ETF vs single stock, leverage, cash, concentration, and timing.

Extraction rules:

• Paraphrase evidence; use short quotes only when necessary.
• Mark confidence as high only when the point is explicit, repeated, or supported by official articles.
• If a field is unsupported, leave it empty.
• Preserve contradictions and stance changes; they are part of the framework.

Joke And Persona Handling

• Use data/source/jokes_inventory.jsonl first for joke/persona questions.
• If the user likely wants to hear the joke itself (e.g. asks "唐僧笑話", "講那個梗", "直接講笑話", "皓哥有什麼段子"), lead with a concise paraphrased telling of the joke before any analysis, source note, or serious takeaway.
• A joke is high-confidence when the note labels 皓哥笑話 and transcript context matches.
• Transcript-only jokes are candidates unless there are explicit humor markers, puns, absurd turns, or strong persona markers.
• Do not merge adjacent jokes only because timestamps are close.
