Web Research
Goal
Find current and verifiable data for the project while preserving sources and access date.
When Search Is Required
- Prices, availability, suppliers, delivery timelines.
- Current rules, regulations, restrictions, if they may change.
- Real analogs, references, images of objects or materials.
- Any data where outdated information may cause a wrong decision or estimate.
Process
- Formulate the research question.
- Prefer primary sources: manufacturers, suppliers, official documents, maps, catalogs.
- For every important finding, record link, access date, and what was taken.
- Separate fact from designer inference.
- Move results to the relevant file: brief, estimate, references, or decisions.
Output
- Short summary.
- Source list.
- What applies to the project.
- What requires client or contractor verification.
