Usage

Verbosity
- Silent (default): No expert deliberations. Output only: score table, FIPD-classified findings list, and auto-fix diff. Saves ~60-80% output tokens.
- Verbose (
--verbose): Full expert deliberations, cross-expert dialogue, reasoning traces, and detailed per-expert analysis before scores and findings.
Silent mode still performs full internal analysis — quality is preserved, only the output is compressed.
Behavioral Flow
- Load Protocol: Read
/Users/jcords-macmini/projects/20_agentflow/experts/PANEL_PROTOCOL.md and apply its Grounding (non-code branch — every finding quotes the source section it rests on) and Refute Stage sections. Findings that misquote or cannot cite the source MUST NOT be reported.
- Ingest: Parse input — detect source lists, API specs, scraping plans, collection strategies, or research designs
- Classify: Identify research domain (competitive intel, technical research, market research, academic, regulatory, OSINT) and scope
- Assemble Panel: Select experts based on
--focus area or use defaults. --experts override replaces defaults entirely. Max 6 experts per review.
- Conduct Review: Run analysis in selected mode using each expert's distinct research methodology
- Gather Evidence (if
--evidence active): Experts probe APIs for rate limits, test scraping durability, verify source availability, check ToS
- Score: Rate research plan across 5 dimensions (0-10 each), compute overall score
- Gate Check: Overall score must be >= 7.0 to pass. Below threshold = research plan needs revision

Analysis Modes
Discussion Mode (--mode discussion)
Collaborative source evaluation. Experts explore coverage, gaps, reliability, and collection feasibility through dialogue. Cross-expert validation of source selection and prioritization. Default mode.
Critique Mode (--mode critique)
Systematic review with severity-classified findings (CRITICAL / MAJOR / MINOR). Each finding includes: expert attribution, specific source/API reference, remediation suggestion, priority ranking. Best paired with --evidence active.
Socratic Mode (--mode socratic)
Adversarial questioning to develop research thinking. Experts challenge source assumptions, probe for blind spots, question authority scores, and test whether triangulation is possible. Forces the researcher to defend every source choice.
Evidence Modes
--evidence passive (default): Expert opinions based on provided content only. No tool calls.
--evidence active: Experts probe live APIs for rate limits and availability, test-scrape target pages, verify RSS feed freshness, check robots.txt and ToS. Produces evidence-backed feasibility assessments.

AUTO-FIX, NOT SYNTHESIS-ONLY — this panel produces the analysis AND then applies fixes for every finding (high, medium, and low) automatically, per 00_Governance/CLAUDE.md §8 Panel Auto-Fix Policy. It never asks which findings to apply and never presents a menu: it fixes everything, then reports what changed. A below-gate score means fix the findings and re-run, not stop and ask.
