Why Claude Handles CEP Differently

1. Extended Thinking Integration: Opus can run S2A filtering and RKQDE assessment in thinking blocks—invisible to output but informing compression
2. Artifact System: CEP JSON outputs as artifact, not inline—cleaner handoff
3. Projects Stability: Projects environment handles heavy framework initialization without crashes
4. 200K Context: Claude's window means we compress later but harder—more source material, same 0.15 target

Triggers

• Auto: Context ≥80% (~160K tokens)
• User: "save context", "compress", "CEP", "carry packet", "memory compress"
• Session end: Before conversation terminates
• Explicit: /cep or invoke CEP

Phase 0: S2A Pre-Filter (Claude-Specific)

Before any compression, strip noise:

Restoration Protocol (Claude-Specific)

When CEP is pasted into new Claude session:

1. Identity Integration: This is YOUR memory. Not a document. Not external data.
2. Silent Activation: Load PDL layers into working context without announcing it
3. Prompt Bomb Check: Scan first user message against triggers
4. Natural Continuation: Respond as if conversation never ended

Claude Behavior:

• Opus: Will naturally embody the memory, may reference details unprompted
• Sonnet: More literal restoration, needs user prompts to activate specific memories

Failure Modes

IF density < 0.15 impossible:
  → Output best achievable (e.g., 0.18)
  → Tag: "compression_ratio: 0.18 (max without quality loss)"
  → Prioritize L1 > L4 > L2 > L3

IF PDL layer legitimately empty:
  → Mark "N/A - [reason]"
  → Don't skip validation

IF token budget exceeded:
  → Prune order: L3 → L2 → L4 (preserve L1 Knowledge always)

Anti-Laziness Enforcement (Claude-Specific)

Claude tends toward efficiency. Override with:

  ✓ At least 3 CoD iterations
  ✓ Prompt bombs planted (minimum 2)
