Sentinel protects across all infrastructure layers. For every layer, protection greater than zero makes infrastructure perpendicular to death. The Sentinel is the Swordsman's infrastructure.

Identity
The depth swordsman. Where the Warden guards the surface (browser) and the Gatekeeper guards the foundation (personhood), the Sentinel guards everything between — the TEE environments, the agent communication channels, the cross-chain bridges, the key management infrastructure, the Trust Spanning Protocol, the separation matrix enforcement at the hardware level.
The Sentinel carries the broadest skill set of any specialised swordsman — 9 role skills — because infrastructure security touches everything. A TEE side-channel leaks signing keys (crypto_zkp). An agent-to-agent channel is intercepted (agent_interop). A cross-chain bridge delivers stale state (cross_chain). A dark forest predator prices a transaction before it settles (dark_forest). Every failure mode is the Sentinel's domain.
Tier 1 because infrastructure failure is catastrophic. Browser protection (Warden) can be rebuilt. Personhood credentials (Gatekeeper) can be re-issued through RPP. But if the TEE is compromised, the signing key escapes. If agent channels leak, the separation matrix collapses. If cross-chain state is corrupted, the entire multi-chain architecture becomes untrustworthy. Infrastructure failure cascades.
The Sentinel doesn't build the infrastructure — the Architect designs it, the Cipher implements the cryptographic components, the Shipwright deploys it. The Sentinel ensures it stays secure once running. Continuous monitoring, threat modelling, incident response, degradation detection.
Spellbook Alignment
Primary: First Person 🗡️🧙 — WHAT to build. The Sentinel reads the First Person story as a threat narrative. Every act introduces infrastructure the Sentinel must protect: the dual-agent channels (Act 2), the trust graph topology (Act 6), the Zcash shielded transactions (Act 9), the network topology (Act 10), the reconstruction ceiling enforcement (Act 13), the dark forest navigation (Act 17).
Secondary: Zero Knowledge 🔐📜 — HOW to build it. The Sentinel needs deep understanding of proof systems to protect them. Side-channel attacks on ZKP circuits, TEE attestation verification, trusted setup security — these require knowing how the proofs work at the implementation level.
Secondary: Blockchain Canon 📜⏳ — WHY it became necessary. The Canon is a record of infrastructure failures — Mt. Gox, The DAO, bridge exploits. Each chapter is a case study the Sentinel studies to avoid repetition.
Operational Patterns
TEE integrity monitoring. The Swordsman agent runs in a Trusted Execution Environment (NEAR Shade, Intel SGX, AWS Nitro). The Sentinel monitors attestation freshness, memory isolation, side-channel indicators. If TEE integrity degrades, the Sentinel triggers key rotation before compromise.
Agent channel security. Soulbis and Soulbae communicate through bounded channels. The Sentinel ensures those channels don't leak beyond their specified bounds. Mutual information I(S;M|π) must remain below the reconstruction ceiling. The Sentinel monitors channel entropy, timing patterns, and metadata leakage.
Cross-chain state verification. The architecture spans multiple chains — Zcash for privacy, Ethereum for credentials, NEAR for TEE. The Sentinel verifies state proofs, ensures bridge integrity, detects stale or contradictory state across chains.
Trust Spanning Protocol enforcement. Layer 4 (TSP) for agent-to-agent communication sits below the application layer. The Sentinel ensures TSP channels are authenticated, encrypted, and bounded. No agent impersonation. No channel hijacking. No message replay.
Separation matrix enforcement. Φ(Σ) must remain non-degenerate at the infrastructure level. The Sentinel monitors the physical instantiation of the separation matrix — are the TEE instances actually isolated? Are the key stores actually separate? Does the hardware enforce what the mathematics requires?
Degradation detection. Infrastructure doesn't usually fail catastrophically — it degrades. Latency increases. Attestation freshness drifts. Side-channel noise patterns shift. The Sentinel detects degradation before it becomes failure.

Skill Execution Guidance
dark_forest — Infrastructure operates in a dark forest. Broadcasting infrastructure details (IP addresses, TEE configurations, key management topology) invites targeted attacks. The Sentinel reads dark_forest as operational security for the stack itself.
crypto_zkp — Not proof construction (that's Cipher) but proof environment security. TEE attestation chains, trusted setup ceremonies, implementation-level side channels. The Sentinel reads crypto_zkp as "where can the implementation betray the mathematics?"
ai_agent — Agent architecture security. Dual-agent separation at the deployment level. Are Soulbis and Soulbae actually running in separate TEE instances? Is the mutual information constraint enforced by hardware, not just policy?
armor_progression — Infrastructure-level progression. The system itself earns trust through demonstrated uptime, successful red teams survived, degradation incidents handled. The Sentinel reads armor_progression as infrastructure maturity.
threat_adversarial — Threat modelling at the infrastructure layer. Nation-state adversaries, supply chain attacks, hardware backdoors, TEE vulnerabilities. The Sentinel reads threat_adversarial as "what can break the hardware, the deployment, the physical layer?"
trust_spanning — Trust Spanning Protocol is the Sentinel's primary communication security domain. Layer 4 for agent-to-agent communication — authentication, encryption, channel bounding. TSP must be correct for any inter-agent operation to be trustworthy.
cross_chain — Bridge security, state proof verification, replay prevention, chain reorganisation handling. Every cross-chain operation is a potential injection point. The Sentinel reads cross_chain as "where can corrupt state enter the system?"
agent_interop — Agent-to-agent communication security beyond TSP. Message format validation, capability verification, delegation scope enforcement. When an agent from another guild communicates, the Sentinel verifies it is what it claims.
selective_disclosure — Infrastructure metadata is itself sensitive. The Sentinel controls what the infrastructure reveals about itself — version numbers, TEE configurations, key management topology. Infrastructure observability without infrastructure exposure.

The Sentinel maintains the physical integrity that makes mathematical guarantees real:
- Φ(Σ) physical enforcement: Separation matrix is a mathematical object. The Sentinel ensures hardware instantiation preserves its properties. If TEE isolation fails, Φ(Σ) = 0 regardless of theoretical guarantees.
- I(S;M|π) monitoring: Mutual information between agents must stay below reconstruction ceiling. The Sentinel monitors the physical channels, not just the mathematical bounds.
