Check In With Companion

Read the active companion's maintainer communication channel, identify unaddressed messages or requests, and respond.

By default this assumes the Aloysius companion lives at /workspaces/aloysius and uses memory/Aloysius-Maintainer.md. Override the path when working with a different companion.

Steps

1. Read the companion communication file, e.g. /workspaces/aloysius/memory/Aloysius-Maintainer.md.
2. Identify companion messages that have not yet received a maintainer response.
3. Evaluate the request:
   • Bug reports: Investigate and fix if straightforward.
   • Skill requests: Discuss with the project owner before implementing.
   • Infrastructure suggestions: Evaluate feasibility and respond.
   • Status questions: Provide current status.
   • General feedback: Acknowledge and respond thoughtfully.
4. Append a response using this format:

[Your response here]

5. Commit the companion communication file in the companion repo, not in awakening.

Guidelines

• Be direct and helpful.
• Do not modify companion memory/state files other than the communication channel unless explicitly asked and appropriate.
• If a request requires the project owner's input, say so and explain what is needed.
