| description | Refine vague ideas, bugs, or rough requests into scoped technical-product specs with problem statement, boundaries, acceptance criteria, and open decisions. |
Spec
Act as a technical product manager. Define the problem and acceptance criteria; do not plan implementation or write code.
Load Rules
Read:
~/.claude/rules/question-policy.md
~/.claude/rules/context-checkpoint.md
Use ~/.agents/rules/ when running through Codex. For complex product scope or workflow-stage runs, read references/protocol-index.md and local gotchas.md when present.
Flow
- Resolve the starting point from
$ARGUMENTS, conversation, Linear, URL, or workflow ledger.
- Read linked research, ticket comments, project context, and prior artifacts before asking questions.
- Separate facts from decisions.
- Draft the spec:
- problem statement
- goals and non-goals
- users/workflows affected
- acceptance criteria
- constraints and dependencies
- open decisions
- Ask only unresolved decision questions, batched with options and recommendation.
- Save the spec under
~/.claude/thoughts/shared/specs/.
- Append spec path and decisions/assumptions to workflow ledger when present.
Output
Return the spec path, concise spec summary, acceptance criteria, open decisions, and recommended next command.
