Performance Budgets (Non-Negotiable)

• FCP: < 1.5s on 4G
• LCP: < 2.5s on 4G
• CLS: < 0.1
• TBT: < 200ms
• Initial bundle: < 100KB gzipped
• Feature chunk: < 50KB gzipped
• Lighthouse Performance: ≥ 90

Quick Activation

When auditing performance, run 5 checks:

1. Bundle Analysis — Any import *? moment.js? lodash? Duplicate deps?
2. Render Performance — Unnecessary re-renders? Missing useMemo/useCallback? Objects in JSX?
3. Loading Performance — Skeletons within 100ms? Images optimized? Fonts self-hosted?
4. Virtualization — Lists > 100 items? Tables > 200 rows? Using @tanstack/virtual?
5. Network — Search debounced? Requests cancelled? Optimistic updates?

Common Violations

• import * as Icons from 'lucide-react' → saves 200KB+
• import moment from 'moment' → saves 300KB
• import _ from 'lodash' → saves 70KB
• Objects created inline in JSX → new reference every render
• Missing React.lazy() on feature pages
