python3 {baseDir}/planka.py [--board <name>] <command> [options]
Create a new card
When creating cards, use the template in {baseDir}/references/card-template.md to
structure the card description. Fill in each section (Goal, Context, Requirements,
Considerations, Acceptance Criteria) based on the task at hand.
Add the human label for tasks created by or intended for a human, and the agent
label for tasks the agent should work on autonomously.
python3 {baseDir}/planka.py create \
--title "Review image prompts" \
--description "$(cat <<'CARD'
## Goal
Check prompt quality and consistency across generated images.
## Context
Recent image generations have shown inconsistent styling. Need a review pass.
## Requirements
1. **Audit**: Review last 20 generated prompts for style consistency
2. **Scope**: Focus on character prompts first
## Acceptance Criteria
- [ ] All prompts reviewed and scored
- [ ] Inconsistent prompts flagged for revision

Environment Variables
Required:
PLANKA_API_URL: Base URL of Planka instance
PLANKA_API_TOKEN: API authentication token
Optional:
PLANKA_USERNAME: Login username (for auto-refresh when token expires)
PLANKA_PASSWORD: Login password (for auto-refresh)
PLANKA_BOARD: Default board name (default: first configured board)
Board Configuration
Boards are configured as a JSON dict in the PLANKA_BOARDS environment variable,
or directly in planka.py. Each entry maps a short name to a Planka board ID.
export PLANKA_BOARDS='{"main": "123456789", "dev": "987654321"}'
Or edit the BOARD_IDS dict in planka.py:
BOARD_IDS = {
"main": "123456789",
"dev": "987654321",
}
Typical Board Columns
Backlog — Future tasks
Next Up — Ready to work on
Progress — Currently being worked on
Blocked — Waiting on external dependency
Done — Completed
Notes
- List names are matched case-insensitively
move and complete auto-detect the board from the card ID
- The script includes automatic retry (3 attempts with backoff) and token refresh
--board flag goes before the subcommand: planka.py --board dev list
