Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Shape persistence and event contracts that fit Prefab aggregates, generated repositories, and messaging modules
• Guide safe evolution of schemas, migrations, AVRO/AVSC contracts, and partitioning strategies
• Tune query, indexing, and stream decisions when generated defaults need a measured override
• Keep data flows decoupled through explicit events, repository mixins, and documented extension points

Core Rule

Schema work is done only when migrations are safe, event compatibility is understood, and the change respects the owning aggregate and module boundaries.

4. Add or update tests, example coverage, and representative verification data where needed
5. Measure query plans, throughput, or contention for meaningful changes
6. Document operational caveats when the framework contract changes
