Punk Records — Brain File Update Protocol

Punk Records is Stella Protocol's source of truth. Four markdown files in brain/ track everything:

When to Update

After each significant feature in BUILD — not at session end. Output this block:

After a Buster Call or Cipher Pol event — log immediately to vivre-cards.md or scope-changes.md.

At phase transitions — update log-pose.md phase field.

At CLOSE — insert version boundary in vivre-cards.md, sync architecture.md to reality, archive closed version entries (see Archiving below).

Vivre Card Format (append-only)

Superseded Pattern

When a prior decision was reversed:

• Do NOT edit the original entry
• Append a NEW entry with **Supersedes:** [date] [original title]
• Explain what changed and why

Archiving (triggered at every CLOSE)

After inserting the version boundary, move the just-closed version's block to brain/vivre-cards-archive.md:

1. Cut all entries from the closed version — including its version boundary marker — and append to vivre-cards-archive.md
2. Exception: any entry with **Status:** OPEN stays in vivre-cards.md regardless of version — active buster calls are never archived
3. Result: vivre-cards.md stays lean (current sprint only + unresolved buster calls). vivre-cards-archive.md is the permanent audit trail — never delete it.

If vivre-cards-archive.md doesn't exist yet, create it with the same header as the main file.
