Application -- Generate and Audit Materials
When To Run
- When asked to "apply to [company]", "write cover letter for", or "prepare application"
Workflow
Step 1: Load the Job
Get the job details -- title, company, description, requirements. If from a URL, search for it. If from pipeline, load from applicant-db.
Step 2: Research the Company
Search the web for:
- Recent news (last 6 months)
- Company values and mission
- Tech stack (if engineering role)
- Recent product launches
Summarize in 3-4 bullets. Flag if limited info found. Do NOT fabricate.
Step 3: Load Career Profile
Read the career-profile skill for the user's experience, skills, and preferences.
Step 4: Generate Resume Highlights
Pick 3-5 accomplishments from the career profile that best match this role's requirements. Reframe with the company's language where natural, but don't force it.
Step 5: Generate Cover Letter
Follow the copy-style skill rules. Use company research to make the opening specific. Keep under 250 words.
Step 6: Audit
Run check_humanization on the cover letter.
- Score >= 60: Pass to next step
- Score 40-59: Regenerate with the specific feedback, max 2 retries
- Score < 40: Flag for manual writing
If humanization passes, review against the cover-letter-judge criteria.
Step 7: Present for Review
Show the user:
- Resume highlights (bulleted)
- Cover letter (full text)
- Humanization score
- Company research bullets
- "Approve and track?" prompt
Step 8: Track
On approval, use add_application with all details.
