Step 1: Scan and Compare
When the user asks to update READMEs (or when running periodically):
1.1 Read Existing READMEs
- Parse the current README files
- Identify every section, every file listed, every method, every route, every hook, every model
- Build a complete inventory of what the README currently documents
1.2 Scan the Codebase
- Read all source files in the directories listed above
- Build a complete inventory of what ACTUALLY EXISTS in the code right now
- For each file found: extract its name, its public methods/functions, its purpose
- For Prisma schema: extract all models, fields, types, relations, enums
1.3 Compare
For each section of the README, determine:
NEW — exists in code but NOT in README:
- New files (controllers, services, hooks, pages, etc.)
- New methods in existing files
- New routes/endpoints
- New models or fields in Prisma schema
- New enums
- New dependencies in package.json
- New environment variables
- New scripts
REMOVED — exists in README but NOT in code:
- Deleted files
- Removed methods
- Removed routes
- Removed models or fields
- Removed dependencies
- Removed environment variables
MODIFIED — exists in both but CHANGED:
- Method signatures changed
- Route paths changed
- Model fields changed (type, constraints)
- Business rules changed (detected from service logic)
- Dependencies version changed
UNCHANGED — exists in both and matches:
- Do not touch these sections

After approval, update each README:
Update Rules
For NEW items (➕):
- Add the new entry in the CORRECT section of the README
- Follow the EXACT same format as neighboring entries in that section
- Match the arrow notation (→), indentation, emoji usage, and description style
- Place new entries in ALPHABETICAL order within their section, or at the END if the section has a logical order
For MODIFIED items (✏️):
- Update ONLY the changed parts
- Do not reformat or restyle the surrounding content
- If a method was added to an existing file, add it to the method list in the same format
For REMOVED items (🗑️ — only after explicit approval):
- Remove the entry
- If removing leaves a section empty, keep the section header but note it is empty
- Never silently remove — every removal was approved in Step 2
For the Database section (inside Backend README):
- If the section does not exist yet, CREATE it following this format:

- Code block format for route listings
- Indentation and nesting matching surrounding content
- Same language as the existing README (do not switch languages)
Folder Structure Update
When new files or folders are detected:
- Update the ASCII folder tree in the 📁 Estrutura de Pastas section
- Add new files/folders in the correct position within the tree
- Maintain the 📁 and 📄 icon convention
- If a new folder was created, add it with its contents
Data Flow Update
If the data flow changed significantly (new layer added, new external integration):
- Update the ASCII data flow diagram
- Maintain the same visual style (boxes, arrows, labels)
- Only update if the FLOW changed — not if just new files were added to existing layers

Periodic Run Guidance
This skill is designed to run approximately every 2 weeks. When running periodically:
- The user says: 'Update the READMEs' or 'Scan for README changes'
- The skill scans everything (Step 1)
- If NO significant changes detected:
- Report: 'Scanned the codebase. No significant changes detected since last update. READMEs are up to date. ✅'
- Do NOT modify the READMEs
- If changes ARE detected:
- Follow Steps 2-4 as described above
What counts as a significant change worth updating:
- New file added to any documented folder
- File removed from any documented folder
- New method/function added to an existing file
- Method/function removed from an existing file
- New route/endpoint added
- Route/endpoint removed or changed
- New model, field, or enum in Prisma schema
- Model, field, or enum removed or changed
- New dependency added or removed from package.json
- New environment variable added or removed
- New script added to package.json
- Folder structure changed (new folder, removed folder)
What does NOT warrant an update:
- Code changes inside existing methods (logic changes without API surface change)
- Style/formatting changes
- Comment changes
- Test file content changes (but new test FILES are documented)
- Config value changes (but new config FILES are documented)
- Git-related changes (.gitignore, branch changes)
