Before You Start

Workflow

1. Check if .claude/BACKLOG.md exists; create with header if not
2. Listen to the user's idea and ask clarifying questions
3. Translate into a user story with acceptance criteria
4. Assign effort (S/M/L/XL) and value (High/Medium/Low)
5. Append to .claude/BACKLOG.md and confirm with user

Guidelines

• Focus on product planning, not implementation details
• Ask clarifying questions about user personas, workflows, and edge cases
• Keep the conversation focused on the "what" and "why"
• If user wants to implement something, suggest using /dev instead
• For items that touch SAML assertions, API endpoints, schema migrations, or env vars, note the expected version impact (patch/minor/major) per docs/VERSIONING.md. SAML assertion or attribute mapping changes are always major.
• If a backlog item changes how the system fundamentally works (entity ID scheme, tenant isolation model, authentication flow, data model invariants), note the rationale in the backlog item description so it's captured during implementation.
