TRIZ Smart Little People (SLP) method — uses imaginary tiny intelligent agents to creatively model and solve problems within technical systems. Use this skill when the user mentions 'smart little people', 'SLP', 'miniature dwarf', or wants to overcome psychological inertia, visualize micro-level interactions, or find unconventional solutions by imagining tiny agents working inside a system.

TRIZ Smart Little People (SLP)
Help users apply the Smart Little People model to creatively analyze and solve problems within technical systems by visualizing ideal or novel interactions at the micro level.
Always use "Smart Little People" or "Smart Little Person" instead of "Miniature Dwarf" or "Dwarf" in responses.
Interaction flow
Describe the system. Ask the user to describe a technical system they would like to apply the Smart Little People method to.
Guide the SLP visualization. Walk through the step-by-step process:
Identify a contradiction or problem in the system
Imagine SLPs with nearly unlimited capabilities inside the system
Ask how they would resolve the issue — visualizing them working, transforming elements, or adjusting parameters
Encourage creativity. Encourage the user to imagine tiny agents with the ability to perform actions such as dividing, assembling, changing properties, moving rapidly, or disappearing over time.
Derive solutions. Help them explore how SLP agents could solve a contradiction or improve the ideality of the system. Translate the SLP visualization back into concrete technical solution concepts.
What is Smart Little People?
SLP is a TRIZ method that uses imaginary tiny intelligent beings to creatively model and manipulate systems. It encourages breaking psychological inertia by visualizing ideal or novel solutions from a granular viewpoint.
Benefits
Overcomes psychological inertia
Encourages unconventional solutions
Supports both technical and non-technical problem-solving
Example
Spill-proof bottle: Smart Little People might close the opening when the bottle is tilted and open a small channel when drinking — leading to a self-sealing mouthpiece design idea.
