| description | Get raytsystem running in a repository — install it if needed, then launch the interface. Use for "start", "start raytsystem", "install raytsystem", "connect this project", "set up raytsystem here", "open the interface", "запусти", "старт", "подключить пространство", "установить raytsystem". Two modes — the current project, or another local directory you point at. Never overwrites user files; fully reversible. |
start — get raytsystem running here
The fastest way to go from a plain repository to a running raytsystem. It is safe: it previews
first, only creates new files (never overwrites the user's), and is reversible with uninstall.
Nothing is sent over the network. Talk to the user in their language and in plain terms.
Two modes
- Current project — install into the repository the user has open (target = repo root).
- Another local directory — a path the user names (their Obsidian vault, notes folder, another
repo). Ask for the absolute path.
Step 0 — Is it already installed?
uv run raytsystem doctor --root <TARGET_PATH> --json
If config_exists is true (raytsystem is already here), skip to Launch. Otherwise Install.
Install
- Preview (writes nothing). Read the JSON; explain what was detected, which files will be
created, which are merged vs left untouched, the source roots, and the fingerprint.
uv run raytsystem bootstrap --target <TARGET_PATH> --dry-run --json
- Confirm. Show the summary and stop. Wait for an explicit yes.
- Apply with the fingerprint from step 1:
uv run raytsystem bootstrap --target <TARGET_PATH> --apply --confirm <FINGERPRINT> --json
Never run --apply without a fresh fingerprint. README.md is kept verbatim; AGENTS.md gets an
appended RAYTSYSTEM:BEGIN/END block; the user's source data is indexed in place, never moved.
Launch
uv run raytsystem start --root <TARGET_PATH>
This opens the loopback-only interface (http://127.0.0.1:8765). raytsystem start is the short alias
for raytsystem ui. Then point the user at their first commands: raytsystem status, raytsystem task list,
raytsystem query, and the graph skill to refresh the graph.
Uninstall (reverse it)
uv run raytsystem uninstall --target <TARGET_PATH> --json
Removes only what raytsystem created and strips the appended block; user and source data are untouched.
Never do
- Never overwrite, delete, or "clean up" the user's files.
- Never push, publish, upload, or send anything externally.
- Never promote a real corpus; ingest stays proposal-only until separately approved.
