FreeLogoDesign Platform Help
FreeLogoDesign (freelogodesign.org, operated by novaxis solutions inc., Quebec, Canada) is a
template-based logo maker + drag-and-drop editor — thousands of templates across 35+ categories, millions of
icons, plus a business-card maker, social-media kits, and brand guides. It's an established budget tool
(millions of users), a peer in the budget logo cluster (Hatchful / Namecheap / DesignEvo / LOGO.com / LogoMaker /
Ucraft / LogoAI / Zoviz / Brandmark / Mojomox). It's the branding/logo step for founders, indie makers, and
small businesses who've locked a name — and the boundary matters: a logo is downstream of a locked name, which is
downstream of a validated idea, so validate demand first (/sales-idea-validation → a real behavior test) and
name it (/sales-namelix) before branding.
The one fact that frames every answer — the name is the trap: free design, but the free download is a 200×200px
PNG. Designing and editing are free, but the free download is only a 200×200px PNG (a thumbnail — too small
for a website header, print, or a crisp social avatar). Any usable output — a high-res or transparent PNG, or
any vector (SVG/PDF) — requires a paid plan. So a "free FreeLogoDesign logo" is a preview-sized
placeholder, not a usable deliverable. This is UI-only — there is NO public API (see Step 4).
The second fact — vector is in the base paid plan, and the model is mostly one-time.BASIC ~$45
(list ~$65; some sources ~$40 — best-effort, sources conflict) is a one-time purchase that already includes
high-res PNG/JPG + vector SVG + PDF. PREMIUM/UNLIMITED add higher resolution (up to 5000px) and longer edit
windows — also one-time per logo. The PRIVILEGE Pack is an annual subscription (unlimited logo creation).
There's also a ~$249 done-for-you designer service. So vector is cheap-in-base (like LogoMaker), but not
free (unlike Namecheap).
Step 1 — Gather context
If references/learnings.md exists, read it first for accumulated platform knowledge.
Ask only what you can't infer:
What do you want from FreeLogoDesign?
A) Build/customize a logo (browse a template → edit text/fonts/colors/icons → download)
B) Understand what's vs (the vs the paid high-res/vector gate)
free
paid
200×200px free PNG
C) Get a specific format/resolution — vector SVG/PDF, high-res or transparent PNG (all paid)
D) The plans — BASIC/PREMIUM/UNLIMITED (one-time) vs the PRIVILEGE annual subscription, or the ~$249 designer service
E) The Exclusive Logo feature (paying to lock a template so others can't reuse it)
F) Ownership / commercial use / trademark — can I legally use and own this mark
G) Integrate or automate ("API" / bulk generation — see Step 4)
What will the logo be used for — digital/social, or print/large-format? If print/signage, you need vector
(SVG/PDF) — the free 200px PNG is far too small and pixelates; vector is paid (BASIC+).
Skip-ahead: a name (not a logo) → /sales-namelix; the validate-before-building method or a branding-tool
comparison → /sales-idea-validation; wider social/marketing creative → /sales-canva — route in Step 2.
Step 2 — Route or answer directly
If the user's question is about…
Route to
Generating the business name itself (not the logo)
/sales-namelix {question}
The validate-before-building method, or comparing branding/logo tools across the market
/sales-idea-validation {question}
Getting a vector from a raster logo / print-readiness in general
/sales-idea-validation {question}
A free logo that also gives free VECTOR SVG (FreeLogoDesign's vector is paid)
/sales-namecheap-logo-maker {question}
A free usable PNG (FreeLogoDesign's free PNG is only 200px)
/sales-hatchful {question}
Building the wider social/marketing creative or a design system at scale
/sales-canva {question}
When routing, give the exact command: "This is a {domain} question — run: /sales-namelix {original question}"
Otherwise, answer FreeLogoDesign–specific questions using Step 3.
Step 3 — FreeLogoDesign reference
Read references/platform-guide.md for the full reference — the template → edit → download workflow and
every module's automation tag; exactly what's free vs paid (the 200×200px free PNG, what BASIC/PREMIUM/
UNLIMITED/PRIVILEGE unlock, and where vector lives); the one-time vs subscription split (BASIC/PREMIUM/UNLIMITED
one-time, PRIVILEGE annual) and the ~$249 designer service; the Exclusive Logo feature and its honest
caveat (it locks a template's exclusivity but is not a copyright/trademark license); the ownership vs
trademark picture; and the no-public-API reality (why generation can't be scripted and what to use instead).
Answer using only the relevant section — don't dump the full reference.
Step 4 — Actionable guidance
State the trap plainly: designing is free, but the free download is a 200×200px PNG. That's a thumbnail —
too small for a website header, print, or a crisp avatar. Any usable output (high-res/transparent PNG, or
any vector SVG/PDF) is paid. So a "free FreeLogoDesign logo" is a preview, not a deliverable. Flag
all pricing/format/resolution specifics as best-effort → verify at freelogodesign.org.
Vector lives in the base paid plan — and it's mostly one-time.BASIC ~$45 (list ~$65; some sources ~$40 —
best-effort) is a one-time buy that already includes high-res PNG/JPG + SVG + PDF vector. PREMIUM/
UNLIMITED add higher res (up to 5000px) + longer edit windows (also one-time); the PRIVILEGE Pack is an annual
subscription for unlimited logos; a ~$249 done-for-you designer service exists too. Want vector for free?
→ Namecheap (free SVG). Want a free usable PNG? → Hatchful (free full-res PNG) — FreeLogoDesign's free
PNG is only 200px.
The Exclusive Logo feature locks a template, not a trademark. FreeLogoDesign sells Exclusive Logo — pay to
make a chosen template inaccessible to other users (a partial fix for the shared-template "everyone's logo
looks alike" problem). But be precise: it does not include a copyright or trademark license, and it can't
control icons that already exist elsewhere — so it makes the template exclusive, not the mark legally yours.
Lock the name (and validate the idea) before you make a logo. A logo is downstream: validate demand
(/sales-idea-validation), settle the name (/sales-namelix), then brand — never brand a name you might change.
"Yours to use" ≠ a registered trademark — do your own clearance. FreeLogoDesign lets you use a purchased
logo commercially, but it does not grant copyright automatically (you must file with your country's copyright/
trademark office), and a mark built from shared templates/icons can be non-distinctive. Tell users to run a
USPTO/EUIPO search + distinctiveness check and grab the domain + handles before relying on the mark legally.
(Also: unpurchased logos remain FreeLogoDesign's property, and refunds are reportedly final — best-effort.)
There is NO public API — don't plan a pipeline around it. If asked to "use the FreeLogoDesign API" or generate
logos in bulk from a script, be precise: it's a human-in-the-loop UI tool with no REST endpoints, no
webhooks, no Zapier/Make, no MCP. Don't invent endpoints. For programmatic logo/image generation at volume, use
an image-generation service with a documented API.
If you discover a gotcha or tip not in references/learnings.md, append it there with today's date.
Gotchas
Best-effort from research (2026-07) — features/formats/prices move; the live pricing pages returned errors to
automated fetch, so research was assembled from the FreeLogoDesign knowledge base + third-party reviews. Verify at
freelogodesign.org.
Free design, but the free download is a 200×200px PNG — say this first. It's a thumbnail, not a usable logo.
Any usable high-res/transparent PNG or any vector (SVG/PDF) is paid. A "free" FreeLogoDesign logo is a preview.
Vector is in the base paid plan, mostly one-time.BASIC ~$45 (best-effort; list ~$65, some sources ~$40)
one-time includes high-res + SVG + PDF; PREMIUM/UNLIMITED add higher res (up to 5000px) one-time; the
PRIVILEGE Pack is an annual subscription; a ~$249 designer service exists. For free vector → Namecheap;
for a free usable PNG → Hatchful (FreeLogoDesign's free PNG is only 200px).
Exclusive Logo ≠ trademark. Paying for Exclusive Logo makes a template inaccessible to other users, but it
does not grant copyright/trademark and can't control pre-existing icons — the mark isn't legally yours from that.
Ownership ≠ a registered trademark. Commercial use of a purchased logo is allowed "at your own risk";
copyright isn't granted automatically (file it yourself), and shared templates/icons can be non-distinctive — run a
USPTO/EUIPO clearance. Unpurchased logos stay FreeLogoDesign's property; refunds are reportedly final.
NO public API, webhooks, Zapier/Make, or MCP. UI-only; generation can't be scripted — don't invent endpoints.
For volume, use an image-generation service with a documented API.
Related skills
/sales-namelix — Generate the business name first (a logo is the hand-off from the name)
/sales-namecheap-logo-maker — The free peer that also gives free vector SVG — the go-to when you want vector without paying (FreeLogoDesign's vector is BASIC+)
/sales-hatchful — The free peer that gives a free full-resolution PNG — better than FreeLogoDesign's 200px free PNG when you just need a usable raster (but Hatchful has no vector)
/sales-logomaker — LogoMaker.com: no free download at all, but vector SVG is in its ~$40 base package — compare one-time paid-vector tools (both put vector in the base plan)
/sales-designevo — A template-based peer whose vector is a ~$50 Plus tier (Basic is raster) — contrast with FreeLogoDesign, where vector sits in the base BASIC plan
/sales-ucraft-logo-maker — A manual blank-canvas peer with a free 600px PNG + a $7 one-time SVG (the cheapest paid vector) — compare when weighing cheap vector routes
/sales-freelogocreator — Near-namesake, different company (freelogocreator.com, by Guru Corporation): its free download is a full uncredited PNG rather than FreeLogoDesign's 200px thumbnail, but its only vector is a PDF (no SVG/EPS) and its Terms keep the company's symbol rights perpetual even after you trademark the mark — check which domain the user means before quoting anything
/sales-idea-validation — The validate-before-building method and the full naming/branding landscape (validate and name before you brand; also covers the raster→vector / print-readiness problem)
/sales-canva — Once the logo's done, build the wider marketing/social creative and design system at scale
/sales-do — Not sure which skill to use? The router matches any sales objective to the right skill. Install: npx skills add sales-skills/sales --skill sales-do -a claude-code
Examples
Example 1: "FreeLogoDesign is free, right? How do I get a proper logo file for my website and printer?"
User says: "I made a logo on FreeLogoDesign. It says free — how do I download a good version for my site and for print?"
Skill does: Explains that designing is free but the free download is only a 200×200px PNG — a thumbnail, too
small for a website header, and useless for print. Any usable file (high-res/transparent PNG, or vector
SVG/PDF for print) requires a paid plan: BASIC ~$45 one-time already includes high-res + SVG + PDF. Notes
that for free vector you'd use Namecheap, and for a free usable PNG you'd use Hatchful. Flags prices as
best-effort → freelogodesign.org.
Result: The user understands the 200px trap and either buys BASIC for vector or switches to a free peer.
Example 2: "What's the 'Exclusive Logo' option, and does it make the logo legally mine?" (Exclusive Logo / references)
User says: "FreeLogoDesign offered me an 'Exclusive Logo' upgrade. Does that mean the logo is trademarked and only mine?"
Skill does: Explains that Exclusive Logo makes the chosen template inaccessible to other users — a partial
fix for the shared-template look-alike problem — but it is not a copyright or trademark license, and it can't
control icons that already exist elsewhere. Clarifies that FreeLogoDesign doesn't grant copyright automatically
(you file with your copyright/trademark office), and that commercial use ≠ a registered trademark → run a
USPTO/EUIPO clearance and check the domain + handles.
Result: The user understands Exclusive Logo locks the template, not the legal rights, and plans proper clearance.
Example 3: "How do I call the FreeLogoDesign API to auto-generate logos in bulk?" (developer/automation)
User says: "How do I use the FreeLogoDesign API to generate 100 logos from a script?"
Skill does: States FreeLogoDesign has no public API — it's a manual UI tool with no REST endpoints,
webhooks, Zapier/Make, or MCP — so logo generation cannot be scripted. Does not invent endpoints. Suggests an
image-generation service with a documented API for programmatic/bulk logo generation, then vectorize if needed.
Result: The user avoids building on a nonexistent API and picks a workable path.
Troubleshooting
"My downloaded logo is tiny / blurry — 200×200 pixels"
Symptom: You downloaded your logo for free and it's a small, low-resolution 200×200px PNG.
Cause: That's the free download — FreeLogoDesign's free file is a 200×200px PNG thumbnail. High-res and
transparent PNGs, and all vector formats, are paid.
Solution: Buy a plan for a usable file — BASIC ~$45 one-time includes high-res PNG/JPG + SVG + PDF vector
(PREMIUM/UNLIMITED go up to 5000px). Or, for a free usable file, switch peers: Hatchful (free full-res PNG)
or Namecheap (free logo incl. free SVG). Confirm prices live.
"I need a vector / SVG for print — is it in the free version?"
Symptom: Your printer/large-format needs a scalable file and you're not sure the free tier gives vector.
Cause: No — vector (SVG/PDF) is paid. It's included starting at BASIC ~$45 (one-time), alongside the
high-res PNG/JPG.
Solution: Buy BASIC (or higher) for the SVG/PDF; the base plan already includes vector (like LogoMaker,
unlike DesignEvo where vector is Plus-only). Want vector for free? Use Namecheap. Confirm live.
"Is BASIC a one-time payment or a subscription? Why was I billed annually?"
Symptom: You're unsure whether you bought a one-time logo or signed up for a recurring plan.
Cause: BASIC/PREMIUM/UNLIMITED are one-time per-logo purchases, but the PRIVILEGE Pack is an annual
subscription (unlimited logo creation). An annual charge means you're on PRIVILEGE, not a one-time plan.
Solution: If you only need one logo, buy BASIC/PREMIUM/UNLIMITED (one-time). If you're on PRIVILEGE and
don't want it, cancel the annual subscription in your account; note refunds are reportedly final (best-effort).
"Is there an API to generate logos in bulk?"
Symptom: You can't find FreeLogoDesign API docs to script logo creation.
Cause: FreeLogoDesign is UI-only — no REST endpoints, webhooks, Zapier/Make, or MCP.
Solution: Don't build a bulk-generation pipeline on it. For programmatic logo/image generation, use an
image-generation service with a documented API. Reserve FreeLogoDesign for interactive, one-off logos.
