Design process
For every new feature:
- Start with user intent — "What is the user trying to express?"
- Generate options — at least 3 syntax alternatives.
- Compare with other languages — what precedents exist? (See table below.)
- Evaluate trade-offs — readability × writability × extensibility × consistency.
- Recommend with rationale — pick one; state why.
- Define semantics — what does this mean in the AST?
