Step 1: Gather and Clarify Requirements

Before drawing a single box, deeply understand what you are building.

Functional Requirements Checklist

• What does the system do? (Core use cases, max 5)
• Who are the users? (Roles: admin, end-user, API consumer, internal service)
• What are the primary user journeys? (Step-by-step for each role)
• What data does the system manage? (Entities, relationships, lifecycle)

Step 3: Define Components and Boundaries

Break the system into clear, bounded components.
