Use this skill when a question, problem, observation, bug, decision, emotional reaction, disagreement, or confusing situation would benefit from drilling down through layers of causality.
Relationship to n-whys: this is a preset of n-whys with a default depth of ~5 and a root-cause orientation. If the user wants a specific depth, or a deliberately deep chain, use n-whys n=<k> q=<question> instead.
The Five Whys method repeatedly asks "why?" to move from the obvious surface explanation toward deeper causes. The goal is not always exactly five steps; stop when the next "why" becomes speculative, circular, or no longer useful.
