RPA Web Automation (Playwright)

Quick start

• Use the public API in src/index.ts and instantiate RPASkill.
• Run npm install and npx playwright install if browsers are missing.
• Initialize with initBrowser, then navigate, interact, extract, and closeBrowser.

Browser selection

• Prefer channel when using installed Chrome or Edge (chrome, msedge, chromium).
• Use executablePath for a custom browser binary.
• On Windows, pass the full path to the executable (for example C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe), not just the directory.

Core patterns

• Always wait for readiness (waitForLoadState, waitForElementVisible) before interaction.
• Use retry and timeouts for flaky steps instead of fixed sleeps.
• Keep reusable capabilities in src/ and runnable flows in examples/.

Key entry points

• src/index.ts: public API surface for the skill.
• src/types.ts: options and type definitions.
• src/core/: browser, navigation, element ops, extraction, flow control.
• src/skills/: search and webSearch helpers.

Adaptive search logging

• Use adaptiveSearch to auto-pick a goal and run multi-round queries.
• Enable audit log with logEnabled: true or set logPath.
• Logs include each round's query, keyword hits, and decision reason.
• Optional: logFormat (json | jsonl), logAppend, logFlushEachRound, logIncludeResults, logIncludeOpened, logMaxResults, logMaxOpened, logIncludeSnippets.

Adaptive search CLI

• Use npm run adaptive -- --query "<text>" to run without editing code.
• Or use --config configs/search.json to load a JSON config.

Extension guidance

• Add new capabilities to src/ and export them from src/index.ts.
• Update types in src/types.ts when introducing new options.
• Add or update a minimal example in examples/ to demonstrate usage.
