Convert — Nightwatch

Converts Nightwatch.js test suites to any supported target, and emits Nightwatch from any source.

When to use

Trigger when:

• Imports: const { browser } = require('nightwatch') or global browser variable.
• module.exports = { 'Test name': function (browser) {...} } (legacy format).
• Or describe('...', function() { it('...', function(browser) {...}) }) (BDD format).
• nightwatch.conf.js / nightwatch.json / nightwatch.config.ts config file.
• Page objects in page_objects/ directory with elements, sections, commands.
• browser.assert.* / browser.expect(sel).to.be.visible assertion syntax.

Scope

• Nightwatch 1.x (callback-style), 2.x (promises + BDD), 3.x (latest).
• Legacy module.exports and modern describe/it BDD test styles.
• Page objects (elements, sections, commands, props).
• Custom commands (nightwatch.conf.js custom_commands_path).
• Custom assertions (custom_assertions_path).
• Multi-environment (test_settings.default, test_settings.chrome, etc.).
• WebDriver backend (standalone Selenium, ChromeDriver direct).
• CDP / Playwright backend (Nightwatch 2.3+).
• Assertion libraries: built-in browser.assert.* + Chai-style browser.expect(...).
• Data-driven via nightwatch-api / loops / parameterised tests.

Out of scope

• Nightwatch Inspector recordings (binary format) — export to JS first.
• Mocha/Jasmine runner via nightwatch --test-runner=mocha — preserved as config metadata.
• Third-party plugins (nightwatch-html-reporter, nightwatch-cucumber) — config metadata only.
