6. WHAT TO AVOID AND WHY Name any ETFs in this space that look relevant but have hidden problems: excessive concentration, high fees, poor liquidity, methodology that drifts from the stated theme.
7. THE HONEST CAVEAT Is this sector ETF actually the right instrument for the thesis, or would a basket of individual stocks give cleaner exposure? When does the sector ETF work against you (e.g. owning XLE for oil but getting dragged by refiner holdings that move differently)?
