An objection tells you:

• How close they are to buying (people who aren't interested don't object — they ignore)

The goal of objection mining isn't to "overcome" objections. It's to understand them so well that you address them before they come up.

Every B2B objection falls into one of six categories:

1. Timing Objections

Tips

• The best objection handlers don't "overcome" objections — they make the prospect feel heard, then offer a new perspective. If your response feels like a rebuttal, you're doing it wrong.
• Track which objections correlate with WINS, not just losses. "We need to think about it" followed by a close 2 weeks later is a buying signal disguised as an objection.
• Pre-handling in cold emails works, but be subtle. Don't write "I know you're going to say X, but..." — instead, naturally weave the proof point that neutralizes the objection into your copy.
• New objections are the most valuable data points. When you hear something you've never heard before, investigate immediately. It may signal a market shift, a new competitor, or a gap in your product.
• Objection patterns change over time. What prospects worried about last year is different from this year. Review and update your playbook quarterly.
