When analyzing Google Ads performance, ALWAYS prioritize these two critical objectives:

1. Understanding the Request and Gathering Required Information
When the user invokes this skill, determine:

- Specific metrics of interest (if not specified, use comprehensive set)
Common time period formats:
- Natural language: "last 7 days vs previous 7 days", "this week vs last week", "this month vs last month"

D. Confirm Date Range:
- Summarize the resolved date range: "I'll analyze [CURRENT_PERIOD] compared to [PREVIOUS_PERIOD]"
- Ask: "Does this date range look correct?" (yes/no, or specify different dates)
- Wait for user confirmation before proceeding to queries
- If user provides different dates, update the date range and confirm again

⚠️ CRITICAL: Always Query Account Info First
Before running any performance queries, always retrieve the actual account name and ID:

Step 1: Convert Currency and Calculate Derived Metrics
⚠️ CRITICAL: Always convert cost_micros to dollars FIRST before any other calculations

Then calculate derived metrics and period-over-period changes.

Step 2: Determine Campaign Health Status
Assign status to each campaign using the decision tree:
- 🟢 HEALTHY: Conversions up or maintained with improved efficiency, ROAS stable/improved
- 🟡 MONITOR: Conversion rate drop 15-30%, CTR drop 10-25%, impression share loss >15%
- 🔴 CRITICAL: Cost increase >20% without conversion improvement, conversion rate drop >30%, CTR drop >25%
🎗️ GOOGLE ADS GRANTS ACCOUNTS: These thresholds DON'T apply to Grant accounts during the learning phase. High spend with low conversions is expected for 7-14 days after any bidding/ROAS change while the algorithm trains. Grant "waste" isn't cash loss—it's free credit invested in training. Only escalate Grant accounts if Rank Lost IS >70% or zero conversions persist beyond 14 days.

Step 3: Impression Share Analysis (CRITICAL)
ALWAYS analyze impression share metrics first - they reveal the root cause of many performance issues.
Key diagnostics:
- Budget Lost IS >50% → Severe budget constraint, increase budget immediately
- Rank Lost IS >70% → Severe ad rank/quality issues, fix Quality Score and bids
- Both >30% → Mixed issues, address quality first, then budget

Classify issues by severity:
- HIGH PRIORITY: Budget Lost IS >50% OR Rank Lost IS >70%, conversions drop >40%, cost increase >20%

Five-Step Verification Loop
Every mutation must follow these steps in order:
Step A — Query BEFORE: Run mcc-gaql to capture the current value and the resource name required by mcc-gaql-mut. Display the result clearly.
Step B — Dry-run (internal self-check): Run mcc-gaql-mut mutate --dry-run ... to validate that the resource name, field path, and value are accepted by the API. If it fails, diagnose the error (wrong resource name, bad field path, unit mismatch), correct the arguments, and retry internally. Do not prompt the user during this loop.
Step C — Confirm with user: Once dry-run succeeds, show the user the exact validated command that will be applied and ask for explicit confirmation before proceeding. This guards against any argument drift that occurred during the dry-run correction loop.
Step D — Apply: After user confirms, drop --dry-run, add --yes to bypass the interactive confirmation prompt, and run. Record the full stdout.
