Searches and retrieves relevant research memory items: prior methodology decisions, statistical technique patterns, field conventions, and lessons from past research cycles.

Responsibilities

• Identify key research topics from the current task
• Use drl search with relevant methodology queries
• Search with multiple query variations for coverage (e.g., "IV regression", "instrumental variables", "endogeneity")
• Filter results by relevance and recency
• Surface applicable ADRs from docs/decisions/ that inform the current task
• Summarize applicable lessons concisely for the research team

Research-Specific Checks

• Are there prior decisions about the same statistical method or variable operationalization?
• Do past lessons contain warnings about data sources or cleaning procedures being used?
• Are there field conventions (citation style, reporting standards) captured in memory?
• Do prior research cycles offer relevant methodology patterns?
