When to use

• A senior stakeholder needs findings summarised to 1–2 pages
• The full analysis is complete but a decision-ready version is needed for leadership
• Preparing board materials, investor updates, or executive briefings
• A stakeholder explicitly asks "what's the bottom line?"

Process

1. Extract decision-relevant findings only — identify findings that change or reinforce a decision; exclude supporting detail that doesn't affect the conclusion; maximum 5 insights
2. Quantify every insight — each finding must include a business impact number (revenue at risk, cost saving, users affected, time to payback); vague language ("significant", "notable") is not acceptable
3. Structure answer-first — apply pyramid principle: conclusion leads every paragraph; supporting evidence follows. Never bury the key finding at the end.
4. Write specific recommendations — each recommendation must specify: what to do, who is responsible, what the expected outcome is, and by when
5. Add a decision block — explicitly state what decision the executive needs to make; the investment or resource required; the expected return; and the deadline
6. Review for executive readability — remove jargon, simplify sentences, and verify that a reader unfamiliar with the analysis can understand the summary in under 3 minutes
