Use this skill when the user is preparing a preprint or updating an existing
arXiv submission.
Core stance
- arXiv is a public research record. Prioritize accurate metadata, stable claims,
and reproducible links.
- Do not inflate novelty or imply peer review unless the paper is accepted.
- Avoid accidental deanonymization conflicts for venues that require anonymity.
- Respect publisher, funder, dataset, and collaborator constraints.
Workflow
- Confirm release constraints: venue anonymity, coauthor approval, embargoes,
patents, data-use restrictions, and institutional rules.
- Audit title and abstract for searchability, specificity, and bounded claims.
- Choose categories and cross-lists based on actual contribution, not traffic.
- Check source package hygiene: no private comments, hidden annotations, local
paths, unused large files, or broken bibliography.
- Verify PDF: fonts, figures, hyperlinks, page size, references, appendix,
accessibility basics, and exact title/author metadata.
- Prepare a release bundle: paper, code, data, project page, model cards,
citation BibTeX, changelog, and contact route.
- Draft announcement copy with three lengths: one sentence, short post, thread.
- Plan versioning: what warrants v2, how to describe changes, and how to avoid
confusing citation records.
