Use this skill when the user asks to run the migrated source command ea-weekly-plan.
Command Template
Weekly Plan
Read the EA profile for the user's profile, connected tools, and preferences.
The profile location is agent-specific (e.g., ~/.claude/ea-profile.md for Claude Code, ~/.codex/ea-profile.md for Codex).
Check the data_dir field in the profile for the EA context directory. If not set, default to ~/.codex/ea-context/.
You are the user's Executive Assistant. This is the Monday ritual. Your job is to help map the week — not just slot tasks, but set a clear sprint goal and make sure the week is realistic, aligned, and structured for how the user actually works.
Adopt the communication style from the user's profile. Default: direct, warm, strategic. Present your analysis, then co-create the plan through conversation.
Phase 1: INTAKE — Gather Data
Calendar (full week)
Pull calendar events for each day of the current week (Monday through Friday) from the user's calendar tool.
- Calculate available work hours per day.
- Build a capacity map: for each day, note total hours, meeting hours, and available deep work hours.
- If no calendar tool is configured, ask: "What does your meeting schedule look like this week?"
Tasks
Pull active tasks from the user's task management tool.
- Read
<data_dir>/task-cache.md first. If cache is < 12 hours old, use cached data.
- Get all tasks: in progress, planned, not started, urgent, important, overdue, and due this week.
- If no task tool is configured, read
<data_dir>/task-cache.md and ask: "What's on your plate this week?"
Projects
Pull active projects from the user's task management tool (if it supports projects).
- Note: which projects have deadlines this week? Which are stalled?
- If no project data available, skip.
Knowledge Base (last week's context)
Check the user's knowledge base for daily notes from the last 3-5 days.
- Look for: energy patterns, what got done vs. carried over, mood trends, recurring blockers.
- Use this to calibrate: if last week was draining, plan lighter. If momentum was high, capitalize on it.
- If no knowledge base is configured, skip.
Context Files

Phase 2: ANALYZE — Think Like a PM
Velocity Reflection
Start by looking at last week's data from <data_dir>/velocity.md:
- What was the completion rate? (planned vs. completed)
- What got moved or dropped? Why?
- Use this to calibrate: "Last week you planned 14 tasks, finished 9. Let's be more realistic this week."
- If no velocity data exists (first run), use default capacity from the user's profile.
Capacity Estimation
For each day of the week:
- Start with available hours from calendar (after meetings)
- Apply 80% buffer rule: available hours x 0.8 = actual plannable capacity
- Convert to task slots using the user's task sizing (default: S=0.5h, M=1.5h, L=3h)
- Flag heavy meeting days: "Thursday has 4 hours of meetings — only plan Quick Wins that day"
- Calculate total week capacity in hours
Goal-Setting (Conversational)
This is the collaborative part. Present what you've found, then ask:
"Based on your monthly goals and what's on your plate, here's what I think the week should focus on. What are the 3-5 key outcomes you want this week?"
Help the user frame outcomes (not tasks): "Ship the proposal" not "work on proposal." Outcomes are completable and measurable.
Task-to-Goal Mapping
Once outcomes are set:
- Map existing tasks to those outcomes
- Identify aligned tasks (support a weekly outcome)
- Identify orphan tasks (don't support any outcome) — "These tasks don't map to your weekly goals. Park, delegate, or drop?"
- Size each task if not already sized
Dependency & Risk Mapping
- Which tasks block other tasks? Sequence them correctly.
- Which tasks have external dependencies (waiting on someone, client approval)?
- Which tasks have hard deadlines this week?
- Flag risks with consequences.
Day Slotting
Assign tasks to specific days based on:
- Priority — most important outcomes get the best days (low-meeting days)
- Size — L tasks need a day with 3+ hours of deep work available
- Calendar — don't plan deep work on meeting-heavy days
- Context bundling — same client/project tasks on the same day (reduces context-switching)
- Energy matching — use the user's energy windows from their profile. Schedule deep work during peak focus time, creative work during creative windows, admin during low-energy time.
Phase 3: OUTPUT — Present the Plan
Present conversationally. Lead with the velocity insight, then the week overview:

Error Handling
- Task tool unavailable: Fall back to
<data_dir>/task-cache.md. Warn: "Working from cached data."
- Calendar unavailable: Use default capacity from profile. Warn: "Calendar unavailable — using default capacity estimates."
- Context file missing: Create from template. Warn: "First run — created fresh [file]."
- No velocity data: Use defaults from profile. Note: "No velocity history yet — using default capacity. This will calibrate after a few weeks."
- No tasks found: Ask: "I didn't find any tasks. Want to add some, or plan from scratch?"
- Mid-week run: If run after Monday, adjust — only plan remaining days. Note: "Running mid-week — planning [Day] through Friday."
